Typing Fast

Hello everyone! There are a lot of abilities, like typing, that we deal in a daily basis and sometimes we're not that good at them, which makes our work slower and less productive. I intend with this blog, to offer some tips and to recomend programs, websites or apps that will help you improve those abilites. This first post will cover typing (faster and more precise), but every week I have here tips for a different ability, for example speed reading, brain exercises, motion coordination, basic self defence, easy exercises, language learning and much more!!

So lets get started! When I observe my friends typing I come across things like two fingers with the right hand, one with the left and many other combinations that for that person may sound fast...but it is not truly that much, I gotta say. Some of them can't type without looking at the keyboard, others make so many mistakes that the backspace key is the most used when writing a simple text. If you identify yourself, anyhow, with these examples, you might consider take some time to typing training!

Typingweb is my favourite online training app and it is mostly free!! It has a simple interface and will provide lessons for beginners and advaced users. I use to type with five fingers total so I started with the basics and walked my way up to the advanced level.
For Premium users, a large amout of content will be added, but, in my opinion, at the point you'll need those lessons you might be able to type with all 10 fingers and should train your typing on your work or study.
If you are a beginner, you should start practicing the positioning of the hand. Always look at the screen and if you are not sure where a key is, don't look at the keyboard and search for it, instead guess and try to memorize it with practice. If you just want to be more precise or faster, you can jump right to the intermidiate or advanced level.
You can take a test to verify your speed at anytime and it is nice to keep track of the results and see how much you've improved. The app you show you what are the keys you are missing the most and compare your speed with previous attempts.

If you have an Ipad and like to do things on the go, there is an alternative that works just the same as typingweb, and it is called TapTyping. I really like this app when I'm at the class and nothing really important is happening, but it is much better if you have a keyboard to attach to your Ipad. You can find it at the App Store for $3,99 and it works both with the Ipad and Iphone.

Thats it for this week! I hope you enjoyed and please comment about your improvement or if you have any  suggestions I will be happy to hear it from you!
